The people of Texas murder 60,000 babies every year while the prolife politicians we’ve elected to protect them attempt to regulate the practice of child sacrifice as if it were healthcare instead of addressing it as murder. I’m ecstatic about the progress being made to stop abortions, however, attacking police isn’t helping to further the agenda. Police enforce the law. Since abortion is legal, there’s no mechanism for them to stop it, no matter how strongly held their personal beliefs might be. They’re most likely there to ensure the peace is kept, which also means protecting y’all from counter demonstrators. Police don’t make the law and they don’t choose where they’re assigned. Please try to keep the focus where it belongs.

Don't get mad at the police. Directly after 9/11 friends of mine, police officers, had to stand guard around Mosques... they had to listen to the cheers coming from inside. They don't exactly get to choose their assignments. And as long as abortion is legal they can't exactly run into Planned Murder, I mean Planned Parenthood and start arresting people. We must continue to push for the abolishment of this sickening practice, but please don't turn on our police, they hurt more than you know.

The Executive Committee of the Orange County Republican Party passed the below resolution, last night, in support of Orange County being a "Sanctuary County" for unborn babies! "There is too much evil in the world for us to sit idly by and watch innocent, unbirthed babies, have their life crushed out of them", said Chairman David Covey. He continued, "while we understand the limited legal impact of our resolution, we feel this is an important statement of support for us to make. How can we expect our elected officials to take a stand if the grassroots remain silent. Moving forward, we demand our elected officials take this issue of life serious. Texas should be leading the Pro-Life movement, not trailing behind at the end like we are currently". The "Sactuary for the Unborn" resolution was passed unanimously by the OCRP executive committee. “SANCTUARY FOR THE UNBORN” WHEREAS, the Declaration of Independence, the founding document of the United States of America, states, “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of happiness.” Life being the first of these declared rights; and WHEREAS, the preamble of the United States Constitutions “secure[s] all of the blessing of Liberty to ourselves and our ‘Posterity’”, which is defined as “Descendants; children, children’s children, etc. indefinitely...” and “in a general sense, succeeding generations...” (Webster’s American Dictionary of the English Language, 1828); and WHEREAS, said Constitution states in the 14th Amendment, “No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws” (emphasis ours); and WHEREAS, as recently as March 2017, the American College of Pediatricians published an Abstract stating that “The predominance of human biological research confirms that human life begins at conception - fertilization. At fertilization, the human being emerges genetically distinct, individuated zygotic living human organism, a member of the species Homo sapiens, needing only the proper environment to grow and develop. The difference between the individual in its adult state and in its zygotic state is one of form, not nature”; and WHEREAS, each and every innocent human life is unique and precious to God; and WHEREAS, human life begins at the moment of conception and continues, uninterrupted, until the moment of natural death; and WHEREAS, innocent human life must always be protected and preserved; and WHEREAS, the protection of all human life is important to the people of Orange County; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE ORANGE COUNTY REPUBLICAN PARTY OF TEXAS, that we declare that innocent human life, including fetal life at every stage of gestation, must always be protected and that Society must protect those who cannot protect themselves. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the OCRP EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE that it declare its opposition to any compromise by the Texas Legislature on abortion.

Last week, Rep. Jonathan Stickland—a co-author of HB 896 and one of the strongest, most consistent supporters of abolishing abortion in Texas—introduced an amendment to a bill (SB 22) to imply that cities and counties have the power to prohibit abortion in their own jurisdictions.

And it passed!

If the provision is signed into law, it would support what we already promote—that if the state government is not doing its duty to abolish abortion, then cities and counties must stand up and interpose to protect the preborn children of Texas.

Not only was this provision passing a good thing for its own sake, but it was also a reminder that the bill closest to what passed in Alabama would have also stood a good chance of passing in Texas if only Rep. Leach had let it get out of his committee and to the floor for a vote.

Actually the Alabama bill was not the equivalent of HB 896 because it bowed to the SCOTUS and had exceptions that would allow unfettered murder on demand... In other words, it was more of the same.

I don't comprehend how the abortionist can be held criminally liable for terminating a life, but the person who seeks out the abortionist to perform the abortion has no criminal liability? If a woman sought out and hired someone to kill her husband, or say her 2 year old child, I guess she should get a pass on that also. Only the person hired who committed the act should be punished? Stupid Thinking. Defective law from the start.

I don’t like how everyone is hating on Leach; the bill that didn’t pass would have incarcerated women for abortions. Alabama’s law does not do that and if we pass a law in the state to ban abortion in the future the women should not be liable for damages but rather the abortionist. Regardless, it is good that SB 22 passed!
