You may have already heard that the hearing for our bill of equal protection for Texas babies was canceled by Chairman John Smithee after getting pressure from Speaker Dustin Burrows and Texas Alliance for Life.
Sadly, Texas Alliance for Life is not satisfied with denying HB 2197 a hearing. They are now working to get as many co-authors to take their names off the bill as possible.
As we continue to work towards getting another hearing date set for our bill, it is important that we maintain as much support from other House members as possible.
