Amicus Brief Filed

Today, Abolish Abortion Texas joined the filing of a landmark amicus brief with the U.S. Supreme Court in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, the case to reconsider Roe v. Wade. The brief was led by the Foundation to Abolish Abortion, our sister organization.

The brief urges the Supreme Court to overturn Roe v. Wade and to recognize the legal personhood of all humans beings, regardless of born or preborn status. Perhaps most significantly, the brief informs the Court that, for so long as the Court does not overrule Roe itself, more and more Americans still desiring to faithfully follow God and the Constitution can, should, and more and more are seeking to bypass the Court by pursuing the abolition of abortion via other peaceful constitutional means.

To our knowledge, this is the first time the abolitionist perspective has been officially shared directly with the Supreme Court.
