Are abortions in Oklahoma down to ZERO?

Are abortions in Oklahoma down to ZERO?

We have got to get our heads out of the sand.

When it comes to the state of the post-Roe fight against abortion, that’s hard to do because even Pro-Life sources are lying to people.

How are we supposed to fight the evil of abortion effectively if we don’t even know what’s going on?

They are saying abortion is abolished when it isn’t.

Just take a look at a story from Life News that made the rounds on Twitter recently claiming that Oklahoma abortions have dropped to ZERO 😧

Life News is a Pro-Life media outlet that has a reach of over 750,000 people. Three-quarters of a million readers is a lot of people to mislead into thinking that abortion is abolished in Oklahoma when it isn’t.

They say 0 babies died, but at least 2,500 women ordered abortion pills online.

While “reported abortions” performed by doctors inside the healthcare system are down to zero…

The truth is that women are still getting abortions on Oklahoma soil by ordering abortion pills online and performing their own abortions at home without ever going to a clinic. It’s called self-managed abortion and it’s still happening in states that have supposedly banned abortion because all 50 states still deny preborn babies the equal protection of the laws. These abortions aren’t reported because they happen outside the healthcare system.

There are more than 20 online pill providers that ship abortion pills directly to women who request them. Many of these sites openly state that abortion pills can be shipped to all 50 states, even states with “bans.”

We don’t have data for all those providers, but we do have Oklahoma data from one provider, Aid Access. According to a recent study, in 2022 after Roe was overturned, an average of 47.99 Oklahoma women per week were requesting pills from Aid Access.[1] The same researcher more recently said the numbers are even 60% higher since then.[2]

That means that an estimated 2,495 to 3,992 Oklahoma women per year are receiving abortion pills through the mail from a single pill provider. And since there are so many other providers, the numbers are likely even higher.

Abortion access is easier than it has ever been.

For the last 50 years, Pro-Life laws and media messaging have made it seem like the evil of abortion originates in clinics and is only perpetrated by doctors. But now that abortion clinics are no longer operating in many states, we are face-to-face with the fact that murder comes out of the heart. Many moms and dads continue to seek out ways to kill their preborn children even when clinics are closed.

And today, abortion access is arguably easier than it has ever been. Most people don’t understand how easy it is to find and order abortion pills online even in states that have supposedly banned abortion.

It’s difficult to process since so many Pro-Life media outlets, lobbyists, and politicians are perpetuating misinformation about how many babies have been saved by post-Roe abortion laws.

But for the sake of our preborn neighbors, we must clear away the lies and get our heads out of the sand. Their lives depend on it.

If you want to understand this issue better, take 15 minutes to watch this video from Abolitionists Rising. They demonstrate the ease of ordering strawberry flavored abortion pills right to their mailbox in Oklahoma. Yes, strawberry flavored 😭

The answer to all this is repentance.

I often wonder how most Pro-Life media, lobbyists, and politicians come up with their strategies.

It’s definitely not by looking in their Bibles.

The Bible is clear. God calls us to do justice for the fatherless. Good moral opinions about abortion are not enough. It is our duty to take righteous ACTION on behalf of our preborn neighbors who are being taken away to death.

If we are going to win this fight against the evil of child sacrifice, we must fight God’s way. We must follow His strategies. He cares about the ends AND the means.

God explicitly commands us, “Do not show partiality in judgment.”

But 50 years of Pro-Life lawmaking have rejected this command.

State laws practice partiality in judgment by governing who may do the killing, where killing may be done, what tools may be used, what age the preborn victims must be, and how their bodies must be disposed of. Exceptions have been inserted into homicide law to ensure preborn babies are not protected and that mothers have full legal immunity when they abort their own sons and daughters.

On top of that, many people don’t realize that the Pro-Life lobby actively opposes equal protection legislation that would treat preborn babies as equal to born people under the law. Millions of Pro-Life dollars are spent lobbying for legislation that denies preborn babies the equal protection of the laws and practices partiality that God hates.

God’s command against partiality in judgment is ignored and instead, a protected class of people, women, are awarded complete legal immunity when they kill their own babies.

We must repent of all of this.

We must repent of trusting the worldly strategies of the secular Pro-Life lobby more than we trust God. And we must produce fruit in keeping with repentance by obeying His commands.

Look where worldly-wise strategies have brought us.

Today, women across the country have easy access to abortion-on-demand from the privacy of their own homes in all 50 states. Pro-Life laws protect their “right” to kill their babies in this way.

Most Pro-Life media refuse to acknowledge that the secular Pro-Life strategy has failed.

Though Oklahoma has a “total abortion ban” by Pro-Life standards and “reported abortions” are down to zero, babies are still being murdered legally.

Their strategy didn’t work because they didn’t build it on the foundation of God’s Word. God’s ways are always best.

Join us in November to learn more about the fight ahead!

Sometimes the truth is discouraging to hear, but we are committed to telling the truth to anyone who will hear it. In the end, lies don’t help anyone understand how to actually win this battle. We trust that God will use the truth to awaken more and more Christians and activate them in this fight out of love for preborn children.

At Abolish Abortion Texas, it has always been our goal to advance God-honoring, equal protection legislation here in Texas. And we have extended that work across the country through the Foundation to Abolish Abortion as we assist other states with drafting and filing their abolition bills.

We invite you to learn more about our vision for the post-Roe fight and how you can be involved at our 2023 Feast and Fundraiser Event, November 4, in Georgetown, Texas.
