Probably nothing shines a light more brightly on what people actually believe about babies in the womb than how they talk about equal protection.

With your help, and a growing number of Texas abolitionists, AATX has been advocating for Constitutional equal protection for ALL babies for a while now.

And it’s making a difference.

The conversation in the fight for life is changing.

Equal protection isn’t complicated.

Protecting preborn babies with the same laws that protect the rest of us is simply obedience to God’s command to love our neighbors as ourselves and to do justice for the fatherless without partiality. Equal protection is merely following the Golden Rule when it comes to preborn babies.

God’s command is the highest law and is the most important thing to tell us what is right to do. It is all we need to know what to do here. But it’s not all we have.

In addition to God’s law, we are also governed by the U.S. Constitution (and our state constitutions). And the Constitution agrees with God on this issue and requires states to provide equal protection of the laws to all people. 

Even though Roe was overturned, abortion has not yet been abolished. Innocent preborn babies still need to be equally protected by the same laws that protect you and me.

Many continue to say that a fetus is a person but then refuse to act like it. Just look at what recently happened in Louisiana when a bill of equal protection made it out of committee to the House floor for a vote.

With Roe v. Wade gone, it is getting easier every day to see who in this fight is for protecting ALL babies and who is against it. 

The truth is that this issue is pretty cut and dry.

Either you believe a fetus is a person and therefore deserves to have all the same protections of the law that you and I enjoy…

Or you don’t.

Either you follow the Golden Rule and love your neighbor AS YOURSELF…

Or you don’t.

Either you oppose discrimination and partiality against fellow humans made in the image of God…

Or you don’t.

Either you are willing to fight to see the same protections of the law that you yourself enjoy also protect helpless babies…

Or you’re not.

You get the idea. Like I said, it’s not complicated.

The principle of equal protection is CRITICALLY important. We must advocate for the lives of our preborn neighbors without compromise until every baby is protected.
