Dear Friend,
At AATX, our faith is not something we are ashamed of. In fact, it drives everything we do and HOW we do it.
Faith is what got us into this fight to abolish abortion in the first place and what has kept us going even though it is not an easy battle.
Not just any faith, but faith in the Lord Jesus Christ alone to save us AND to empower us by His Spirit to love our neighbors as ourselves as He has commanded.
Friend, our foundational principles are different than what you are probably accustomed to hearing from much of the Pro-Life movement for the last five decades.
But our mission is not complicated. We desire to honor and obey God first of all and then love our preborn neighbors as ourselves. It’s really that simple.
Because of this AATX has some core principles that drive our work:
- Follow the higher law.
- Keep the Golden Rule.
- Walk by faith.
- Do it all for the glory of God.
Right now, I want to tell you what it means for us to walk by faith.
Walk by faith and not by sight.
That’s how the Bible puts it.
It sounds simple on the surface doesn’t it? But every day we struggle to actually do it. It is easier to trust in man-made strategies and worldly wisdom than it is to trust that God’s ways are the best ways.
God warns, “If you are not firm in faith, you will not be firm at all.”
Friend, those are alarming words!
I don’t know about you, but I want to be firm in the faith … firm in everything I do. I don’t want to be a double-minded person, unstable in all my ways. I sure don’t want to be the man who built his house on sand and has to watch it crumble because it was built on the wrong foundation.
The only way our work to abolish abortion will have the strength to fight the tremendous evil of legal baby murder, is if we walk in faith trusting that God’s ways of fighting are the best ways.
Walking by faith is when we are obedient to God’s ways, even when we can’t see how it will all work out. It’s trusting Him and His wisdom instead of what our eyes can see.
The Bible says that faith does not rest in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.
If we want the power of God on our side in this fight, and we do, then we must not compromise godly principles to rely on the wisdom of men. We must always rely on the firm foundation of God’s Word to teach us how to fight.
Walking by faith is listening to God’s commands and then acting like they are true (because they are).
When God says, “You shall not show partiality in justice,” we should believe He means it and by faith follow His command.
The one thing nearly all so-called Pro-Life laws have in common is that they do not treat born people and preborn people as equal under the law. This is the definition of partiality.
Most “Pro-Life” legislation establishes partiality in justice in some way. Pro-Life laws discriminate against human beings who don’t have heartbeats yet or who do have birth defects. They are partial toward older babies over younger babies. They establish discriminatory and unequal enforcement measures.
And on and on and on…
Friend, we are not to do evil that good may come. God is not just the Lord of the ends. He is the Lord of the means to achieve His ends as well. He does not call us to use ungodly means to accomplish His glorious ends.
He calls us to be people of faith, trusting in Him and His ways.
We must not build our faith or our strategies to end abortion on the wisdom of men. We don’t overcome evil with evil, we overcome evil with good. That is the godly strategy.
We sow the seed, we do the work, and we trust God with the results.
Our God is more powerful than any strategy we can come up with on our own. So we put our faith in Him, trusting Him that if we do His will His ways, He will bless it as He promises to do.
In a battle that is often discouraging because of the great evil that we are fighting, it is incredibly encouraging to know that success in this fight does not rest on us.
The battle belongs to the Lord; it is for Him to win! It is for us to walk by faith by staying obedient to Him in all our ways and trusting Him for the outcome.
As we work to mobilize Christians across Texas to abolish abortion, we operate on the principle that we must walk by faith. We desire to see all Christians in Texas rising up with faith and calling for the uncompromising end to abortion in this state.
We believe that there are already many Christians out there who would be with us in this fight if we only could reach them with the message of abolition and equal protection.
Think about how you got involved. Was it one of our videos that you saw or a petition that you signed? Was it a mailer that you got during election season or an email forwarded by a friend?
We want to keep doing all those things and more.
If you want to make an investment in growing this movement and in rallying Christians across the state to walk by faith as we call for equal protection, please consider becoming a Sustaining Member TODAY by making a monthly donation of any amount.
Our Sustaining Members keep us in the fight as an uncompromising voice for preborn Texans. Please join us today!
