The First Post-Roe Legislative Session in Texas
The legislative session in Texas begins in January and AATX is already making plans to make 2023 the best legislative session ever for abolishing abortion in Texas.
This will be the first regular session of the Texas Legislature since Roe v. Wade was overturned by the Supreme Court in Dobbs.
Abortion providers have moved out of Texas and clinics have closed, but abortion medication is still being shipped across state lines right to the doorsteps of Texas women. And the Biden Administration is promoting it.
Now that the evil, unconstitutional Roe opinion has finally been relegated to the trash heap where it always belonged, there is one less excuse for delaying equal protection for preborn babies.
The 2023 legislative session will be an EXTREMELY important time for finding out who is ready to completely abolish abortion in Texas without compromise…
And who isn’t.
If your legislators aren’t ready to provide God-honoring, Constitutional equal protection for defenseless babies now with Roe out of the way…
Will they ever be?
Help us prepare for the 2023 legislative session.

The groundwork has already been laid to go into the 2023 legislative session strong.
Over the last two years, we have seen BIG PROGRESS on our goal of making abolition a central issue in Texas politics. Whether they are running for a seat in the House or for the Governor’s office, candidates are making statements about the abolition of abortion because voters want to know where they stand.
And that’s not all…
2022 AATX Candidate Survey
Candidates all over Texas are not just talking about abortion in their campaigns, they are signing the AATX Candidate Survey. In 2022 more candidates than ever returned our survey and pledged to abolish abortion and provide equal protection for preborn babies.
That means we have candidates on the record with their promises and will be able to hold them accountable if and when they take office, like we’ve proven we will.
The 2022 Primary season saw abolition and equal protection demanding attention once again. The race for HD 91 between so-called Pro-Life incumbent Stephanie Klick and abolitionist candidate David Lowe was so heated that it had to go to a runoff.
And a pivotal issue in that race was…
…you guessed it, abolition.
AATX Holds Candidates and Politicians Accountable
She may talk a lot about protecting life, but Rep. Stephanie Klick had already shown her true colors in the last session when as committee chair she killed HB 3326, a bill that would have provided equal protection of the laws to innocent preborn babies.
She denied preborn babies equal protection by the very same laws that protect her and the rest of us. She calls herself Pro-Life and yet personally killed the only bill that would have completely abolished abortion in Texas once and for all.
Do you think that’s okay?
We sure don’t. Lies and betrayal like that must be exposed every time. Voters need to know.
That’s why we are committed to being a clear voice in the fight for life here in Texas.
We are working to advocate without compromise for ALL babies like we would want others to advocate for us. We intend to be there calling on legislators to love their preborn neighbors as themselves until EVERY baby is equally protected by law.
The amazing thing is that because God has provided the resources we need through our generous donors, AATX has been able to be in the fight, holding politicians and candidates accountable. We are there to bring transparency and honesty back to the fight for life in Texas by alerting voters to what is really going on in Austin. But there’s a lot more work to do.
Our Sustaining Members keep us in the fight.

As you can see, we’ve been working hard to push the conversation on abolition and equal protection for preborn babies to the very center of Texas politics. And it’s working!
2022 Republican Party of Texas Convention
With the help of over 50 dedicated volunteers and even more supportive delegates on the ground in Houston, we saw significant progress at the Republican Party of Texas (RPT) state convention as well.
We maintained the strength of the Platform, Principles, and Legislative Priorites of the RPT to abolish abortion without compromise, which we had worked for in previous years. And equal protection for the preborn was added to the party Platform, so the position of the RPT is stronger than ever.
All of this groundwork means that we are in a strong position to press for the complete abolition of abortion and equal protection to be central issues in this post-Roe, 2023 legislative session.
But we need your help.
In order to stay strong and get stronger in this fight we need YOU standing with us.
The generous gifts of our monthly Sustaining Members are a big part of what makes it possible for AATX to make plans today to be there in 2023 and beyond as a voice for ALL babies.
Your monthly gift of $35, $50, $100, or even more will give us the resources we need to make sure that equal protection isn’t forgotten just because clinics have left Texas. We know that babies are still in danger as self-managed pill abortions continue to increase in our state.
Roe is gone, but abortion has not yet been abolished.
We want EVERY BABY protected by law.
Please stand with us as we fight for lives in 2023!
Don’t wait.
